The Newcomers & Friends Special Interest Groups (SIG) have formed for members to share a common interest or activity. This is a great way to get involved and meet new friends. If you want more information on any of the groups listed below, or if you are interested in forming a new group, please contact Katherine Kilbride at SIG@georgetownnewcomers.org. Come join the fun!

GAMES
Bridge - There are several bridge groups that meet during the day, plus a couples bridge group that meets in the evenings.
Bunco - The Bunco Babes meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 11:30 am.
Canasta - This group meets the 4th Tuesday at 1 pm.
Dominos “42” - This is a dominos game with bridge principles, easy to learn, fun to play. This groups meets in members' homes on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 1 pm.
Euchre - Two Euchre groups have formed. One plays monthly on the 2nd Thursday from 10 to 12 noon. The other plays on the 3rd Thursday afternoon from 1 to 3 pm.
Farkel - Farkel is a dice game that has many similarities to poker. There are currently 2 Farkel groups meeting once a month in the afternoon.
Mah Jongg - The Mah Jongg groups meets the last Friday of the month at 10:30.
Pinochle - The Pinochle group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 1 pm.
Scrabble - If you are interested in playing Scrabble, contact Kat Kilbride. This group is just forming.
Couples Game Night - Bring a friend or spouse and meet new friends at this fun evening event. We play various card, board, and domino games on the 2nd Saturday of each month, from 7 until 10 pm. We meet in the Activities Center, 1 Texas Drive, Sun City. Instructions provided!
CRAFTS
Needleholders - Bring your own project of join us to learn knitting or needlepoint. This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday at 2 pm.
LEARNING
Antiques & Collectibles - This informal group meets on the 3rd Friday at 10 am. They meet in members’ homes, or visit antique malls for short seminars and shopping.
Book Discussion - There are three book discussion groups, each meeting once a month. Contact the SIG coordinator for details.
SOCIAL
Movie Matinee Group - Once a month or so, we attend a movie, and may go to lunch if time permits. After signing up, you will be sent an email when a movie is scheduled.
Day Trips & Tours - These trips are open to all members and are announced throughout the year.
Walking Group - Members meet at agreed upon walking trails, parks, etc., on varying days and times. If interested, please contact the SIG coordinator for more details.
FOOD & WINE
Recipe Exchange Groups - Currently we have three recipe exchange groups, each meeting once a month in members’ homes to share food and fun.
Couples Wine Tasting - The Wine Tasting groups meet in the evening on alternate months. The objective of these groups is to learn some basics about wine and to meet new friends.
Ladies Wine Tasting - The Ladies of the Vine group meets quarterly on the 4th Friday at 3 pm.
Casual Dining Groups - There are several dinner groups organized as KISS (Keep it Simple Suppers) and they meet in the evening on dates decided by the group. These groups include spouses.
