We are a group of ladies who are interested in cooking and sharing recipes. We meet for lunch the 2nd Tuesday of the month at a member’s home. A theme is chosen, and we bring a dish along with the recipe to share. It is a great way to make friends, have fun and expand your recipe repertoire!
SWEET POTATO QUEENS
Do you need some new recipes--maybe a new snack for the neighborhood party? We love to party, but we like to keep it simple!! We meet monthly at a member's home. We have a theme such as crockpot cooking, salad luncheon, Mexican dishes, etc. Everyone makes a dish (preferably something you have not tried before) and brings copies of the recipe. We all sample the goodies. Mainly we have fun because that's what Sweet Potato Queens are all about!
WINE TASTING, LADIES
The Ladies Wine Tasting Group meets quarterly (January, April, July and October) on the 4th Friday of that particular month. We have sixteen members and divide into four teams with each team responsible for a quarterly wine tasting. Each team selects and purchases the type of wine they will present as well as doing the research for their selections. That team also prepares the pairings that they will serve with their wine selections.
Our goal is to have a good time, get to know each other better and gain knowledge on the different types of wines.
WINE TASTING, COUPLES I, II & III
Couples Wine Tasting consists of two groups of eight couples that meet in the evening on alternate months. They are very casual groups, with the objectives to learn some basics of wine and to meet new friends. For more information, contact Kat Kilbride at SIG@georgetownnewcomers.org.
