Newcomers Spring Trip to Austin April 16, 2010
  9:00 am - Leave Wolf Ranch parking lot
  9:45 am - Tour French Legation Museum

                      The French Legation was originally built by the French diplomat to The Republic
                      of Texas, Alphonse Dubois de Saligny. In 1956, the home became a museum
                      under the custodianship of The Daughters of The Republic of Texas. Today, the Museum is devoted to sharing the site’s
                      past and rich cultural history of Texas with the public.

11:30 am - Lunch at Moonshine Grill
  1:00 pm - Visit Umlauf Sculpture Garden

                      The Garden & Museum is located near Zilker Park in Austin, Texas, and features sculpture by 20th
                      century American sculptor Charles Umlauf, former professor emeritus at the University of Texas
                      and other contemporary sculptors, several of whom were Umlauf students.

2:15 pm - Tour Neill Cochran House
                      The House was finished in 1855 by Washington L. Hill on 17.5 acres designated
                      in the original survey of Austin. Abner Cook, the master builder, constructed many
                      Greek Revival Residences in Austin, including the Governor's Mansion. The house
                      is currently the domicile of National Society of Colonial Dames of America in Texas
                     and contains antique furnishings and historic documents.
